I feel like I'm in some sort of purgatory. The website in the book where the source code is supposed to be redirects to Gilmore's site which is nothing but 4 big jpgs of his his books which link back to purchase them. People here on Amazon say they emailed him, but when I try to respond to their comments to ask where they found his address, there's no submit button.I suppose I could just type it all in. It's not that much. But this is ridiculous. Can't really recommend a book that makes me retype the code.
The book is a little disjointed.

Easy PayPal with PHP eBook W Jason Gilmore Reviews
bought for the kindle, the code laid out has worked flawlessly and is helping me transition a non-paypal small retail biz site to a paypal one. He gives you explanations as to why the stuff works, but best of all you don't have to understand it! Just put that stuff exactly as written where you're told and it'll run.
I wonder why is selling books without source code available?
easyphpwebsite redirecting to another web site where it impossible to register without buying the book.
This should be called scam
This purchase was a waste of money. The websites (code source / express checkout wizard) referenced in the eBook do not work.
does not seem to provide the registration code necessary to receive the source code for the book. PHP Classes crucial to following the tutorials are in this supplementary data (especially chapter 3), not in the book. Buyer's would be safer buying directly from

At the easyphpwebsite store, one can establish a login and the purchase can be associated with both the login and a download page.
other than this unfortunate lack, the book is pretty good -- it fills in what is otherwise missing from the bookshelves of those intermediate developers who are looking for a quick way to understand how to implement a basic shopping cart for clients. So far (up to and including chapter 3), except for a few minor typos that are easily spotted and remedied, the book's code works!
As a newcomer to PayPal and their APIs and also not coming from an HTML background (experience with actionscript, php, and mySqli), I found it a little daunting trying to understand their documentation.
This book was very helpful in making understanding them much simpler. His code explanations are straight forward and to the point. He seems very knowledgable, and a benchmark for me was that he used mySQLi in some of his data calls (although it was released in 2009, to me this a mark of someone who is current since many people are still slow to adopt the mySQLi standard (is my mark of someone current too easy... it's the little things)). Very quick to read and understand.
The only flaw with the book I lay at 's feet (why I still gave it 5 stars), which is that the source code is not available if you buy the kindle version. It is if you buy though his website though, so as another reviewer said buy it there and you will get a lot more.
I would recommend this book for anyone trying to get started using PayPal as an e-commerce solution for their online business. You get a lot for under $10.00!
Very informative and helpful. Sometimes, however, it is not clear where specific code is supposed to go (e.g., in its own file, as part of another script). As for obtaining source code, all I had to do was contact Mr. Gilmore via the email on his website, and he emailed me the code. Seemed like a pretty obvious solution to me.
As is often the case with technology, some of the features on the PayPal website which are referenced in the book have changed or been removed since the book was published, but I found it fairly easy to find and adapt to the current processes.
I feel like I'm in some sort of purgatory. The website in the book where the source code is supposed to be redirects to Gilmore's site which is nothing but 4 big jpgs of his his books which link back to purchase them. People here on say they emailed him, but when I try to respond to their comments to ask where they found his address, there's no submit button.
I suppose I could just type it all in. It's not that much. But this is ridiculous. Can't really recommend a book that makes me retype the code.
